Briarwood's staff is committed to the best possible resident care. Every department is staffed and run by well qualified, caring people. Carol Kathke is a Registered Nurse and is the Director of Client Services as well as the Personal Care Supervisor. Carol is always ready with a smile and kind word. The gentle caring nature of Carol helps residents relax and feel more comfortable with their stay, she is always willing to listen and assist residents with their daily needs. Roxanne Murphy, LPN along with her assistant Joyce Owens, help residents and family members with the transition to Assisted Living. Roxanne has been the Case Manager since 2002. Prior to becoming the Case Manager Roxanne was the Personal Care Supervisor. Roxanne has been with Briarwood since 1983. Roxanne's background in nursing brings a nice added touch to the Case Management department. Three nutritionally balanced meals as well as snacks are provided. Our Dietary Supervisor Nancy Angelo oversees these meals. Nancy has been with Briarwood since 1989. Our menus are periodically updated to add variety and to accommodate our residents' likes and dislikes. Agnes La Porte ADC is our Activity Supervisor and has been with Briarwood since 1983. Agnes's creative and enthusiastic approach to her job makes her loved by residents. Actives are held daily and are diverse. The activities staff organizes games of bingo and card playing as well as gathering residents for weekly church services. Once a week the residents have the opportunity to work one on one with the activity staff during "Just For You". "Just For You" offer the residents the chance to get help with crafts, letter writing, minor clothing repairs, or any other little thing they may need. Agnes and crew are always busy keeping our residents entertained. Joanne Johnson is our Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor and has been with us since 1985. Joanne and her staff provide daily housekeeping and laundry services. Keith Chamberlain is our Building and Grounds Supervisor. Keith and his staff make sure that the building and grounds are properly maintained and decorated. In the spring, the maintenance staff will be outside planting many flowers. During the Holiday Season, lights are strung to add to our residents' enjoyment. Keith has been with Briarwood Manor since 1996. |
